Readers who have been following the problems Elisha Cook Jr. has been having with the Alien Kam , know that he has been so distressed that he has tried to kill her twice for fear that she might kill him first. Both attempts failed. Recently Elisha has had another opportunity to kill Kam the Alien and this time he believed that he would be successful.
Through a miracle of modern science Elisha had been supplied by Billikid with four brand new rocketships and, believe it or not , four replicants of himself. Moreover these ships had been fitted out with brand new cloaking devices essential for a surprise attack as well as powerful rockets which could be launched at Kam's giant UFO and in the process kill Kam.
Elisha left his secret airbase in Brooklyn with his small fleet and soon they were all in outer space. Then something extraordinary took place. Sudeenly they were joined by by another 396 rocketships and Replicants of Elisha making a grand total of 400 ships ready to attack the UFO of Kam and her crew. They all had escaped detection from earth by the use of their cloaking devices but they were somehow detected by Kam and her crew.
As they were closing in on Kam's UFO all the Replicants saw a fleet of about 400 interceptors from Kam's ship approaching them. Elisha knew that a cosmic battle of epic proportions was about to commence. Hundreds of dog fights took place and fighter after fighter got blown to bits. Nevertheless some of the ships from Elisha's fleet somehow managed to penetrate the defensive shields of the UFO and launch their rockets at close range causing extensive damage to the mother ship.
Finally when there was only the rocketship of Elisha left he thought that it was safe to approach the mothership. So he banked and landed inside the UFO which seemed damaged beyond repair and empty. Had it been abandoned?
Elisha got out of his ship to have a look around. Finally, Elisha thought, he was rid of Kam for good. As he was silently congratulating himself he thought that he heard sounds coming from the control deck of the crippled UFO and he went to investigate. The control deck still had it's glorious view of earth and the rest of the universe and all the instruments looked intact. Oddly enough there was no indication that there were any crew members or their bodies anywhere. What had become of them?
Then from the shadows who should appear but Kam herself. She said, " Congratulations Elisha" , " I've been waiting for your arrival" Elisha was literally struck dumb for a moment. Then he composed himself and asked, "How in the world did you survive the attack? " She did not answer but did she ever look ravishing. To Elisha she looked like a Goddess. She had previously morphed into the form of Kathleen the beautiful mannequin and animated her and was wearing a long white silk cloak with representations of the Sun, the Moon and the Stars on it in gold and silver. Her dark hair was brushed and hung down to her shoulders. She had a smile on her face and her eyes glittered with excitement and anticipation. " Come Here" she said," and Elisha knew that once again under her magic spell. As he approached her she unclasped her cloak and let it fall to the floor. She stood in front of Elisha naked. Her skin seemed to be glowing. Elisha embraced her. From over her shoulder Elisha could see an enormous bed and he knew exactly what was coming. He asked her how she knew he was coming and how she knew that he had a fleet of 400 rocketships with him and was intent on blowing her UFO to bits.She said she knew all about his plans and had anticipated the attack.
Then she led him to the bed and they made love. She seemed very gentle and not the sex maniac he had experienced many times before. Was she really in a loving rather than lusty mood? As they were making love she told him that she had a device which would, when both of them were having simultaneous orgasms , blow up the UFO with them in it. She said that it would be a perfect love/death. They would both die together in a gigantic explosion locked in one another's arms. Then there was an explosion. Everything went black. They were free, and free of one another.
How then, you might ask, was this story written? The answer is simple. The UFO, the crew, Kam and Elisha were all safe and light years away. The whole battle, the rocketships and the UFO and everything else were duplicates.
Then Kam and Elisha and his ship were transported to the real UFO. Kam was once more dressed in her white gown and she said that that experience was the most exciting and thrilling moment of her life. It was all, she said, very real and at the same time a clever simulation.
And so after a good meal Elisha was sent back to earth and landed the rocketship safely in Brooklyn. Elisha then thought that there was only one way to free himself of Kam and that he was a fool not to have thought of it sooner. All he had to do was write her out of the story.
Later, as Elisha was sitting in front of his computer Kam appeared in the form of Kathleen the mannequin and begged him not to write her out of the story. She said that the story and their adventures were the only pleasures she had ever known and she would do anything if he would reconsider. Her terror was genuine and so he promised that he would not write her out of the narrative and that their adventures together would continue. At that point she dissolved into tears of happiness and Elisha was deeply touched.
Elisha did not know if any of this was real or a simulation of some kind. I suppose he will never know. That is the way stories are.
